保 健 食 品 系 簡 介

本系自民國94年成立,前身為保健營養系,旨在培育運動及團膳營養的人才,以維護國人飲食的建康。這些年來前社會高齡化與少子化的趨勢日趨明顯,使國人醫療費用負擔的經濟壓力逐漸增加,因此行政院於民國98年特將「醫療照護」列為六大新興產業之一,其中為因應預防甚於治療的健康管理方式,使保健食品開發成為現今經濟產業重要發展的方向。(This department was established in 1994. The health management method of prevention rather than cure has made the development of health food an important development direction of today's economy and industry.) 台灣人喜歡吃保健食品,一年消費可蓋半棟101大樓(680億元),最近「康健雜誌」針對全台一千兩百八十九名成人的調查,發現四成受訪者每次消費保健食品的金額約三千元,超過一成的人花費逾萬元,但是市面上販賣的保健食品品牌甚多,在國人錯誤的有病治病沒病強身的錯誤觀念,及坊間販賣良莠不齊的保健產品的情形下,國人常常花了錢不僅得不到預期的效果,反而對身體造成無可彌補的損傷。因此如何教導國人正確的食用保健食品知識,並教導正確的開發保健食品知識與流程的從業人才,便成為本系主要的教學目標,於民國100年8月1日,將系名更改為「保健食品系」,著重保健食品開發、製造、成分分析及功效評估等人才的訓練,以期符合社會之發展趨勢及保健食品開發產業的人才需求。此外,為更進一步發展生技醫藥,已於99年成立保健與生技研究所,民國100年8月1日更與本校生物技術系合併,主要發展方向為訓練生技食品開發的研究與開發人才,以增加國人的建康福祉。(Taiwanese like to eat health foods, and they can spend half a building 101 (68 billion yuan) a year. In addition, in order to further develop biotechnology and medicine, the Institute of Health and Biotechnology was established in 1999 and merged with the Department of Biotechnology of the University on August 1, 2000. Talents to increase the health and well-being of Chinese people.) 健康是人類最珍貴的寶藏,預防保健已成為世界的趨勢,保健食品在此趨勢的推波助瀾下正蓬勃發展。目前學術界對保健食品的知識仍屬研究階段,極待大力研究推廣。特別是保健食品涉及的知識層面非常的廣泛,包括:營養、食品、生化、醫學、生理與生物技術等,因此,保健食品的開發及知識的提升有賴多方面科學的整合,例如:人類長久以來飲用的綠茶,其中所含的兒茶素已被證實具有抗氧化等多種功效,各種五顏六色的蔬菜水果,也發現其中的多酚類化合物具有增進生理功能的作用,但需輔助以高度純化技術始可達有效濃度;而傳統上被認為具有強化體質作用的冬蟲夏草,也必須透過高科技的發酵技術而得以量產。因此,保健食品開發、製造、成分分析及功效評估等人才的訓練,相當符合社會發展趨勢及人才需求的方向。(Health is the most precious treasure of mankind. Therefore, the training of talents in health food development, manufacturing, component analysis and efficacy evaluation is quite in line with the trend of social development and the direction of talent demand.) 台灣產、官、學、研各界針對開發高品質中草藥產品已有共識,且已建立國內中草藥及新藥發展鏈,趁國外許多大藥廠尚未大規模投入中草藥研發之際,國內應一方面加強中草藥產業上中下游之整合工作,制定嚴格的生產規範,另應加速開發多元化產品:如機能性健康食品、藥食同源產品、化妝品、內及外用植物產品與環保製劑等,以全面提升中草藥產業之國內外競爭潛力。而培育具有開發與產製中草藥保健食品之專業人才以因應社會產業需求,則是我們教育工作者責無旁貸的使命。(Taiwan’s production, government, academia, and research circles have reached a consensus on the development of high-quality Chinese herbal medicine products, and have established a domestic Chinese herbal medicine and new medicine development chain.
